Volunteers Required. Seeds for a Better World: Oral histories of growers from BME communities (London)

Volunteer Duties: To summarise and transcribe oral testimony from a range of growers involved in preserving our natural heritage through their sharing of memories from back home and here in London.

In order to be able to take part as a Volunteer Transcriber, you must be available on Tuesday 6 February for a compulsory day of training on oral history theory and practice including transcription. Ideally you will have access to a laptop computer you can bring to the training session.

Person specification
In order to carry out the Transcriber role, you’ll need:
1. An interest in natural heritage
2. Use of your own computer
3. Good listening, reading and writing skills, including Microsoft Word
4. Good attention to detail
5. Organisational skills
6. Willingness to be trained in transcription
7. To maintain a degree of confidentiality

Volunteering period: February 2018 – August 2018.

Following the training, the amount of hours you wish to volunteer are negotiable, from a minimum of 2 hours per week between February and August 2018, in order to complete at least 2 transcriptions.
