Essex Sound and Video Archive
Having gained pre-course experience at Oxfordshire Record Office and the National Gallery, I received my M.A. in Archives and Records Management from University College London in 1997. I have worked as an Archivist at Westminster College, Oxford and the Essex Record Office.
In 2002 I took on the role of Sound Archivist at the Essex Record Office, in charge of the Essex Sound and Video Archive. In 2005 I was awarded the Society of Archivists Single Module Certificate in Audio-Visual Archives, and in 2008 was lucky enough to complete a two-month internship at the British Library Sound Archive.
In 2009 I edited and published a CD called How to Speak Essex: 20th Century Voices from the Essex Sound and Video Archive.
I have been Chairman and am currently Hon. Treasurer of the Archives and Records Association’s Film, Sound and Photography Section. I attend meetings of the East of England Sound Archives Steering Group and British and Irish Sound Archives. I am also an Oral History Society Regional Network Representative.
