Current professional role:

Freelance oral history interviewer as well as a member of Waltham Forest Oral History Workshop.

Current projects:

I am acting as advisor to St Margaret’s History Society, the National Trust South Foreland Lighthouse oral history project, working with the London Borough of Waltham Forest on a HLF funded Townscape Heritage project in the St James area of Walthamstow. I work for the British Library as a freelance interviewer specialising in the Oral History of Oral History strand. I am also working on interviewing local toymakers (mainly Britains and Wells Brimtoy) and local Asian residents who have lived in our borough since the 1960s. I have written a comprehensive online document on the history of the licensed trade in Waltham Forest. I am about to start work (Sept 2015) on an oral history of Bishops Palace, Fulham. Currently working with Vestry House Museum, Walthamstow on the history of local workhouses.

Previous projects:

I have worked with the Friends of Bishops Palace Park on an oral history of their park. I have worked for the University of Cambridge on their Kettle’s Yard oral history project. I have undertaken interviews for the National Trust and Kew Gardens on the history of Wakehurst Place, Sussex. Many collaborative projects with Vestry House Museum. I have also been an advisor for a number of oral history projects in the London area.



I am an experienced interviewer, sound editor and archives researcher. I also have experience of writing bids to Heritage Lottery Fund both before and after I retired from local government.
