‘The Yellow Chair’. School oral history performance available to watch online.

As part of a 5 year National Lottery Heritage funded project, St Francis Catholic Primary School in Melton Mowbray have produced, ‘The Yellow Chair’, which was perfomed by our Year 6 Class 2019/20. Oral history was used to capture the memories of the Franciscan Sisters Minoress, who founded the school, and the many pupils who attended the school over the decades. The main character ‘Memory,’ narrates as we follow a small yellow chair from late 1800s London to Melton Mowbray where the school was established in 1904 and still thrives to this day. The play was written and directed by Mary Benzies of Tolethorpe Youth Theatre. The film is free to watch on YouTube.
